Developing Listening Skills

Learning is extremely difficult without good listening skills. Help your child improve their listening skills by talking to them face to face in games and jobs around the home and outside. There are also games that can be played to identify different sounds.

Developing Your Child's Language

Without the words to understand other people and also express how they feel, children can be frustrated and learn at a slower rate. Talking to your child about the world around, playing games, visiting new places and, very importantly, reading books and stories to them will make a huge difference to them in the future.

Developing Good Handwriting Skills

A vital part of learning in the Early Years is to develop good fine motor skills which then lead to comfortable and controlled handwriting.

In this video, I share with you some more fine motor activities you can do at home!

Developing Early Counting Skills

You can really help your child prepare for school and become confident in maths by helping them to count and recognise numbers.

Developing Early Phonics

Knowing the letters of the alphabet and the different sounds they make is a crucial part of learning in the Early Years. Once the children know them securely and can hear them in words, read them in books and write them independently, their world is opened up.
