Foreign Languages

French at All Saints C of E Primary school (taught in Key Stage 2 only, in line with the national curriculum) inspires curiosity about other cultures and equips pupils with practical communication skills for life beyond school. Through weekly, carefully sequenced lessons we teach speaking, listening, reading and writing with a strong emphasis on pronunciation and vocabulary, reinforced by regular retrieval and spoken practice so pupils build confidence and fluency year-on-year. Lessons are practical and engaging — games, songs, role-play and short conversations. French broadens cultural capital and promotes respect for diversity.
