This is an exciting and important year where children develop independence, confidence and resilience as they prepare for the transition to secondary school. We have high expectations and encourage all pupils to take pride in their learning, challenge themselves and achieve their very best. Year 6 is a fantastic year full of opportunities, challenges and achievements. We are proud of our pupils and look forward to supporting them in reaching their full potential.
ClassDojo
We use ClassDojo as a way to communicate and celebrate learning in school. By joining your child’s class, you will be able to see updates, photos and messages about what is happening in the classroom, as well as receive important information from the teacher. You may also see points awarded to your child for positive behaviour, effort and demonstrating our school values. Joining ClassDojo helps you stay connected and involved in your child’s learning and school life.
Please explore our Year 6 Curriculum Overview, which showcases the exciting and engaging topics we cover across the year. It highlights the broad and balanced curriculum we offer, designed to inspire curiosity, build key skills and prepare children for the next stage of their learning. From creative writing and problem-solving in maths to hands-on science and enriching foundation subjects, there is something to interest and challenge every learner.
📝 SATs Information
Year 6 pupils will complete their SATs in May. These assessments help measure progress in reading, maths and grammar.
We aim to make this process as positive and stress-free as possible. Children are well prepared through high-quality teaching and regular practice in school.
Our Year 6 pupils have the exciting opportunity to take part in a residential visit, where they develop independence, teamwork and confidence while enjoying a range of outdoor activities. It is always a memorable experience and a highlight of the year.
