I want to take a minute to just remind parents this week of the importance of keeping your children safe online.
This comes in so many different ways and is a minefield for many of us as so many children have a much better idea of the latest technology than we do.
This week, I have had a number of conversations with different groups of children about group chats on WhatsApp.
I think because so many of us use WhatsApp on a daily basis, we donโt really think about the dangers that it may present for children.
I often speak to the children about WhatsApp and I say the same thing each time - โwhat is the age limit?โ Previously, the age limit for WhatsApp was 16. This was dropped to 13 (which is still 2 years older than our Year 6 pupils).
I know that children will be likely using this app, however, I want to encourage you, as parents to make sure they are as safe as possible if they are. Please make sure that you are aware of what your child is doing, saying and who they are speaking to online (in any form - even on their computer games). Speaking to your children about being safe online and checking in can often make the world of difference.

4th - 9th June - Hajj
Hajj is a special journey that Muslims take to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. It's one of the five pillars of Islam, meaning every Muslim who can afford it and is physically able should try to go on Hajj at least once in their lifetime.
Look at some of the things we have been getting up to in the last 3 weeks (remember to keep checking Seesaw and Class Dojo for class updates):
It has been a very busy half term with lots to celebrate! I would like to thank all of the staff and children for their continued positive attitude, even on the hot days!
We saw the last of our Class Assemblies for the year this week with EYFS. These are always such a highlight for me as they show just how much wonderful learning is going on in the classrooms. The childrenโs pride showing what they have learnt and confidence in front of a whole hall of children (and then families) is quite remarkable and something it took me a long time to get used to! They really are amazing.
Next term we look forward to sharing your childโs Annual Report with you and watch this space for more information about your childโs new class and teacher. We have lots more to look forward to next half term too.
Enjoy the holidays with your children and we canโt wait to see them back on Monday 9th June.
As always, if you are worried about anything, please donโt hesitate to get in touch and we will get back to you as soon as possible. It has been extremely busy but we will always endeavour to get back to you within the same school day wherever possible.
Take care and happy holidays!
