Mathematics

Maths is taught every day in Key Stages 1 and 2. The children have a daily Mathematics lesson which lasts 55 minutes.

In Key Stages 1 and 2 Mathematics is delivered through six areas:

  1. Number System

  2. Calculating

  3. Fractions, Decimals and Percentages

  4. Measurement

  5. Geometry

  6. Statistics (Y2-Y6)

Teachers use formative assessments to select targets for these areas and include them in their unit plans. Within all units of learning the aims are to improve:

  • Fluency

  • Reasoning

  • Problem Solving
